The ‘Salad’ Machine

Optimised for Leafy Products

The Salad Machine from Line Equipment is built in high grade 316 series stainless steel for wash down suitability and is optimised to negate problems with air trapped while bagging leafy products.

Leafy Salad

LE360 optimised for leafy products.

It doesn’t matter what product you are packing, if it is suitable to be packed on a VFFS or HFFS packaging machine, we can optimise your machine as required.

Fill Your Salads Happy™

One of the considerations when designing a packaging process line for bagging a leafy product such as lettuce is controlling/negating the air that can trap beneath the product on the transfer between the weigher and the bagger.

Line Equipment Ltd can help design and specify the correct equipment required, including the build of the bagger.

Part of the customer’s specification required protection against food-industry standard manual wash down processes. As a food industry packaging machine, the bagger needs to be built in Type 316 stainless steel for strength at elevated wash down temperatures and for better corrosion resistance, as it is resistant to highly concentrated sodium hydroxide – the most commonly used chemical in food processing wash downs – whether manual or CIP (Clean-in-Place) wash downs.

This LE360 has been designed and optimised for the bagging of a leafy salad product.

It has been built in Type 316 stainless steel for strength at elevated wash down temperatures and for better corrosion resistance, as it is resistant to highly concentrated sodium hydroxide – the most commonly used chemical in food processing wash downs – whether manual or CIP (Clean-in-Place) wash downs.

While most 300-series stainless steel shafts and components are able to withstand harsh and caustic wash down environments without corroding; 316 stainless surfaces make them impervious to corrosive acids and salts, present in fruits and vegetables. 316-grade steel includes more molybdenum to better resist pitting.

316 stainless steel is the standard we use for all machines subject to wash down regimes.

In design we paid particular attention to the machine footprint. We used small, adjustable, USDA specified feet, to both reduce the area contaminants that can collect and also to accommodate the slope of the floor for drainage without shimming, further minimising areas for entrapment.

Fill Your Bags with Peace of Mind™

Line Equipment has been building VFFS machines for 30 years, with over 400 machines installed all over the world, renowned for their reliability. The entire LE VFFS bagger range is constructed in stainless steel to suit even the most demanding environment, making them, amongst many applications, excellent wet food machines.

As each machine is tailored and optimised to meet your specific application they can be supplied to fit on your production line as standalone units or as a twin machine, in a choice of intermittent, full servo or, when if required, continuous motion, for when you need a more gentle fill for fruit or for leafy products such as lettuce leaves.

UK designed and built to exceed the needs of the food, cosmetic and pharmaceutical industries and to give a consistent and reliable performance, to ensure the machine is available for production when needed, whether packaging granules, liquids, powders or solids. Their easy wash down, stainless steel construction and MAP (Modified Atmosphere Packaging) capabilities make them a perfect bagging machine for food.

Machines Optimised to Suit Your Product and Bag Style

It doesn’t matter what product you are packing, if it is suitable to be packed on a VFFS or HFFS packaging machine, we can optimise your machine as required.

It doesn’t matter what bag style you are looking to package your product into, VFFS and HFFS packaging machines cater for most bags and film types, without or with zips, and we can advise you and optimise the machine to suit your requirement, including zip applicator where needed.

It doesn’t matter what method you need to use to count, weigh or measure your product to ensure the correct quantity/weight in each bag, again we can advise you and work with you to ensure you use the right doser/multi-head weigher/volumetric filler, etc, with the right packaging machine.
